Nightly Skincare Routine
I have been dealing with acne-prone sensitive skin for years now, and the only thing that has helped me is eating a balanced diet, drinking lots of water, and this multi-step skincare routine. Although the process may feel lengthy, it is SO worth it! My skin looks and feels better than ever since she began this multi-step routine! Read about my process below:
Step 1: Oil Cleanser ($30)
I begin my nightly routine with an oil cleanser. This is the first step in my two-step cleansing process. As ironic as it sounds, an oil cleanser or balm is necessary for removing all the dirt and oil out of your pores. Once it is worked into the skin and removed with water, you will be ready to move onto step two.
Step 2: Cleanser ($22)
The next step for me is using a gel or foam cleanser. I usually put a small amount on my fingertips and work it in circular motion all around my face. After one minute, I wash it off with water.
Step 3: Exfoliator ($29)
The third step for me is exfoliating. I only do this a few times a week so I don't cause too much irritation on my skin. I love using a gentle physical or chemical exfoliator to remove the dead skin cells off my face. Dead and dry skin can cause acne, and I find that this step really helps reduce the chance of getting any!
Step 4: Essence ($28)
Are you wondering what essence is? I can help! Essence is a formulated product specifically used to prevent wrinkles and fine lines while providing a base with maximum absorption for the remaining products in your skincare routine!
Step 5: Toner
Toner is a great option if you have an uneven skin tone or want to fade away blemishes over time. Not only does this help with complexion, but it helps with hydrating the skin too!
Step 6: Eye Cream ($29.50)
Step 7: Serum ($42-$60)
Serum is the next step and my favorite part of my skincare routine! With a pea-sized amount, I like to use serum on my fingertips and pat it into my face. I also drag it down my neck for extra hydration. Serum is great for the skin as it smooths and helps with the prevention of wrinkles.
Step 8: Moisturizer ($38)
Moisturizer is a super important step to your skincare regimen! Even if you have oily skin, your skin needs moisture to soak up and remove any oil from the surface. I like to moisturize my whole body as well!
Step 9: Face Mask ($35)
After doing these 8 steps, you will want to apply a face mask (preferably a sheet mask) to seal all of the products on the skin. After leaving one on for about 10-15 minutes, your face will feel hydrated and look like glowing, glass skin!
Step 10: Lip Balm ($12)
The final step in my skincare routine is applying a lip balm overnight. I have chapped lips year-round and I find wearing a lip balm to bed helps heal my lips over time.
